FAMILY CAMP Bay Shore Family Camp Week will be held July 24-31. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL State Street United Methodist Church is welcoming us to their Vacation Bible School this summer. It is scheduled for August 1 - 5 from 6 - 8:30 pm each night. This year's theme is "Galactic Blast: A Cosmic Adventure Praising God!" A freewill offering will be taken for this year's mission project, the East Side Soup Kitchen. The church is located at 3617 Mackinaw Road (between State Street and Davenport.) Registration forms for children, youth and adults are available at the Welcome Center. If you would like to volunteer or have any questions, please contact Yvonne Kinney at State Street UMC, 792-3931. LOONS BASEBALL For you baseball fans, we would like to attend the Loons game on Sunday, August 8th at Dow Diamond as a group. This is a Faith Day where several area churches attend with their church families. They seat us in a group together, scroll our church name on the scoreboard and announce it on the loudspeaker. It's always fun to go and have fun together. If you think you might be interested in attending this Loons game, sign up at the Welcome Center, no commitment yet, just interest. If there is enough interest, we will reserve a section for our group. CHURCH CONFERENCE The Administrative Council has requested from the district Superintendent (and it has been granted) to have a Charge Conference for the purpose of moving money from the pastor's salary category to the pastor's "household exclusion" category. This move does not cost Ames Church anything, but it enables the pastor to exclude more "IRS qualified" house expenses from his taxable income. The conference will be at 6:30 pm, Tuesday, August 17. BLOOD DRIVE Ames Church will host a blood drive on Tuesday, September 21. Thank you
