Small Groups Ministry
Leader, Laurie Howell
We at Ames Church believe
that community and accountability are invaluable to growing, both as
individuals and as a church. Small Groups were created to aid us in
this way. A fairly new but growing ministry at Ames, we already
have six Small Groups up and running: Band of Brothers (a group
for men) and Chicklets (a group for women), as well as male and
female small groups for youth and a combined small group for young
adults.
The
Small Group Mission:
To live in community as Christ commanded, growing in
His image, being accountable to one another with our lives, and
sharing in serving His church with all that we have been given.
Small Group Core Values:
1. The
Bible is the inspired Word of God. 2. Every
thought, word, and action is filtered through the transforming life
of Jesus Christ.
3. True
discipleship happens when people live life together in small
groups.
4. Small
groups accomplish discipleship through authentic relationships, life
application of biblical truth, accountability, service, and
prayer. 5. The
small group leader is strategic to the growth of His
church.
6.
Effective training and support of leaders is critical to the health
of a Church of Small Groups. 7. God has
created each of us with a specific gift that, when used, can
influence others toward a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and
with His church. |
