Outreach
Ministry Leader, Bev Heitkamp Our faith is very much alive. From supporting missionaries in the field to giving out food, clothing, Thanksgiving dinners, and toys at Christmas, Ames members never seem to tire of sharing God's love. Here you'll find just some of the ways you can share God's blessings with others. For more information about any outreach program, call the church office: 989-754-6373. |

Neighborhood Pig Fest |
This annual festival, with live music, activities for kids, face painting and more, is our gift to the Stone School neighborhood, where Ames has stood for more than 130 years. |
M.O.P.S. |
MOPS is a support ministry designed to nurture mothers of preschoolers by meeting their distinct needs to the glory of Jesus Christ. Child care is provided at all meetings, which are every other Monday, September through April. |
Thanksgiving Dinner |
Ames members join in fellowship with neighborhood families for a traditional meal shared in elegant style. |
The Giving Tree |
Each Christmas, families can sign up to buy gifts for those less fortunate and share the joy of making someone's season brighter. |
Clothing Give-Away |
Every October and April members collect, sort, and hand out new and gently used clothing to families in need. |
Habitat For Humanity |
Each June, Ames joins with other United Methodist congregations to finance and build a house for a low-income family. |
Good Neighbors Mission |
Collections of food and other material support are donated by Ames members and shipped to Good Neighbors Mission on the first Sunday of each month. |
The Ames Quilters |
The Ames Quilters grow in fellowship while making quilts for the neonatal unit at Covenant Hospital and other organizations. They meet on Thusday mornings at 10am. |
Emergency Needs |
Unpredictable as they are, we stand at the ready to meet emergency needs. Whether the need is a much needed bag of groceries for a struggling family or just a lift to work, we are happy to help. |
